How we handle your data

Privacy policy

Plain English. No legalese. Your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

East Street Coffee (by Poached), trading as Poached Restaurants Ltd. Registered address: 2 East Street, Bromley, BR1 1QX, United Kingdom. For data queries email hello@poachedrestaurants.co.uk.

We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

What we collect and why

Contact form submissions

Name, email address, optional phone number, and the message you send us. We need this to reply to your enquiry. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) where you ask us to do something, or legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) where you just want to chat.

Catering and consultancy enquiries

The above plus event details — date, party size, budget. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.

Reservations

Bookings are taken by our reservation partner FoodieBook. We can see the booking summary; FoodieBook holds the underlying data under their own policy.

Analytics

If — and only if — you click Accept all in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled. We never use this data for advertising. Lawful basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time via the Manage cookies link in the footer.

How long we keep your data

  • Contact / catering / consultancy form submissions — up to 24 months from the last reply, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
  • Reservation data — held by FoodieBook under their retention policy.
  • Analytics data — Google Analytics retention is set to 14 months.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the providers we need to run the business:

  • Hostinger (hosting & email infrastructure, EU/UK)
  • FoodieBook (reservations, UK)
  • Google (Analytics, only if you consented; data may transfer to the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework / UK extension)

Your rights under the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify data that is wrong or incomplete
  • Erase your data (the "right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent (e.g. analytics)

To exercise any right, email hello@poachedrestaurants.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.
